2026 County Fair Recap
County Fair has come and gone, and what a week it was for our family.
David completed his very first steer project with Arthur, placing 4th in his market heat—right behind the Grand and Reserve Champion steers—and 4th in showmanship. For a first-year project, we were incredibly proud, not just of his placings, but even more so of the responsibility, patience, and confidence he gained along the way.
Addie and Willow earned Grand Champion Senior Dog Showman, and Addie also had a wonderful week with her horses, winning Senior Grand Champion in the English Division and Reserve Grand Champion in the Senior Western Division. She also won $700 running her new horse, Dude, in the barrel racing event held during fair week!
And Harper had a truly unforgettable fair with Princess Pickles and Blue Cheese. She and Blue Cheese earned Reserve Grand Champion Breeding Gilt, and Harper was named Junior Grand Champion Showman.
She then went on to win Overall Junior Large Animal Round Robin Champion—a huge accomplishment that required her to show several different species, including a steer, goat, sheep, horse, and her pig!
But County Fair is about so much more than their accomplishments. The long days spent together as a family, the lessons learned in the barn, the new friendships made, and all the memories we made somewhere in between is what I’ll remember most. I’ll never get these days back and there is no other way I’d like to spend them.
We are so proud of all three kids and incredibly grateful to everyone who supported them and their projects along the way. Thank you!
